The domain of Taysse is located in Corr\u00e8ze at the crossroads of many tourist sites between the plateau of Millevaches, the valley of the Dordogne and the P\u00e9rigord.<\/strong>
It’s cover 91 ha<\/strong> on the borders of two communes, Espagnac and Saint Martial de Gimel, on the plateau of ponds.<\/p>\n

The estate is composed for a part of its surface by deciduous trees<\/strong>, the beech, the oak, the birch, the chestnut framing specific plantations of coniferous trees<\/strong>, the douglas, the larch and for the other part of two ponds.<\/p>\n

This natural site between woods, ponds and peat bogs<\/strong> is populated by a rich and varied fauna and flora<\/strong>. The presence of the otter in the large pond confirms its natural and wild aspect<\/strong>.
The site of the Etangs de Taysse is a land full of history where the Celts<\/strong> cultivated fields whose remains were revealed and analyzed during the emptying of the large pond in 2005.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Gallo-Romans<\/strong> succeeded them by setting up an observation and defense post to watch over the “wine route or salt route” leading from the Dordogne valley to the Correze mountains.<\/p>\n

This site has been through the ups and downs of history, notably during the revolution, and has belonged to different families before being acquired in 1974 by the Social Action Committee of the Urban Community of Lille.<\/p>\n

This acquisition and the numerous developments that have taken place over the last 40 years have allowed many people from the North to discover the beauties of the Corr\u00e8ze.<\/strong>
2010 was the last season…<\/p>\n

Discovered in November 2020, we acquired it in June 2021 and have been sharing its exceptional setting with you ever since.<\/p>\n

The water bodies of the Taysse estate have the status of fishponds, whose construction predates the abolition of the feudal regime, as indicated on the CASSINI* map.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These two bodies of water have the right of enclosure founded in title.<\/p>\n

These rights based on title are rights exclusively attached to hydraulic works for the use of mills, ponds or irrigation. Indeed, on the dike of the big pond stands the “gentilhommi\u00e8re” which was originally a water mill remodeled in the 19th century into a house, called today “la Gentilhommi\u00e8re”.<\/p>\n

*The CASSINI map, drawn up by order of King Louis XV,<\/strong> is the oldest map of the whole of France on a topographic scale. It is also the first and was measured by Cassini de Thury of the Royal Academy of Sciences from 1683 to 1744.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
